The end of 2018 gave Bartow County an extremely slow real estate market according to the real estate sales and data reports. Although it’s standard practice for there to be fewer real estate transactions during the holiday months, the December 2018 real estate market for Bartow County was exponentially slower than it was last year… we’re talking cold molasses slow!

The number of new listings was down 79.6%, the number of pending sales was down 73%, and the number of closed sales was down 89.4%. Despite the number of transactions being so few, inventory fell slightly; the total inventory of homes for sale went down 3.3%, and the months supply of inventory went down 6.5%.

The data shows that the median sales price for a home in Bartow County went up 5.6% to $189,900, while the average sales price for a home in Bartow County went down 8.2% to $192,237. The truth is that there were so few real estate transactions in December 2018 in Bartow County, it’s hard to think of that data as a useful indicator for the future.
