September’s real estate sales data for Cherokee County paints the picture of a real estate market in transition from Summer to Fall. Both new listings and closed sales are down, by 8.1% and 7.3% respectively, signaling that the market as a whole has slowed down a bit, as is expected this time of year. There’s still home buyers out there, though; the number of pending sales is up 4.7%.
Surprisingly, the Cherokee County housing inventory seems to be leveling out; for the third month in a row, the overall inventory of homes for sale has increased. There’s currently 3 months of inventory on the market, which is higher than neighboring counties. The increased inventory didn’t slow down the buying process, luckily… the number of days that a home is on the market has decreased by a whopping 12%, and the percent of list price received rose to 98.4%.
