The real estate sales data for Cobb County in August 2018 paints a picture of a rock-solid real estate market, in terms of both listing activity and home prices. Although the number of closed sales dropped by 9.1% in comparison to this month last year, it wasn’t enough to demonstrate home inventory growth. Quite the opposite, in fact; the inventory of homes for sale is 10.2% less than August of last year, despite the 2.2% increase in new listings.

Sales prices are equally healthy, with a 5.3% increase in median sales prices, and a 4.7% increase in average sales prices. Cobb County home owners will be also be happy to hear that homes are selling faster than they were last year as well – with an average of 32 days on the market, which is an 8.6% quicker selling time than August of last year.
